What is a POKit?
A POKit, short for Power Outage Kit, is a shelter-at-home kit for a power outage lasting one to three days. It packs light, phone power, drinking water storage and treatment, no-electricity food, two-way radios, and a party layer of games and s'mores for up to four people, so an outage becomes an evening rather than an emergency.

What's inside the POKit 3 Day Kit
Sixty-one pieces, grouped by what they do. Every line comes from the kit's bill of materials, not from a brochure.
Light. 10 strands of 7-foot LED string lights, 10 six-inch glow sticks, 1 pack of 8-inch party glow sticks, 2 rechargeable LED headlamps.
Power. 1 rechargeable backup battery for phones, headlamps, and lights. We describe it in hours of steady backup, not days, and we are bench-testing it now so the product page can state phone charges rather than a number nobody can check.
Talk and listen. 1 pair of two-way radios with NOAA weather alerts, AM/FM radio, a flashlight, and hand-crank backup, in forest green.
Water. 4 collapsible 10-liter containers (40 liters total) and 1 bottle of water treatment tablets. Fill the containers in the first hour of an outage while there is still pressure.
Warm food and treats. 1 City Bonfires portable bonfire (outdoor use only), 1 City Bonfires s'mores kit, 2 Jiffy Pop popcorn pans, 4 packs of animal crackers, 2 tubes of Nuun electrolyte tablets.
Comfort. 8 pairs of hand warmers, 4 cooling towels, 8 build-a-fan kits for kids.
Carry it. 1 Community Prep kit bag, sized to live by the door.

What three days actually look like
Night one. Lights up, phones on the battery, radio on the weather station, s'mores outside. The card deck comes out and everyone learns what the goldfish knows about water.
Day two. Fill the containers while the pressure is still good, drop in a tablet, and check on the folks next door with the second radio. Popcorn over the bonfire. Hand warmers if it is cold, cooling towels if it is not.
Day three. Everything still works. Nobody is stressed. When the power comes back, the checklist tells you what to restock, and we will nudge you once a year so future-you does not have to remember.

Questions people ask
Collapsible content
How long does the POKit 3 Day Kit last?
It is built for up to four people for up to three days of a power outage at home. Consumables like popcorn, crackers, tablets, hand warmers, and glow sticks are designed to be used and restocked; the lights, headlamps, battery, radios, and containers last for years.
Will the battery run my fridge?
No. The battery keeps phones, headlamps, and string lights going for hours of steady backup, not days, and it is not built for appliances. For fridge-scale backup, watch for our larger power options later this year.
Is there real food in the kit?
There is warm food and treats: popcorn, s'mores, animal crackers, and electrolyte tablets. It is a three-day kit for a household that still has a pantry, not a replacement for it. Our two-week kit, coming soon, adds a meal layer.
Can I use the bonfire indoors?
No. The City Bonfires portable bonfire is for outdoor use only, on a porch, patio, or balcony with clearance, never inside. The s'mores taste better out there anyway.
Why two-way radios?
Because cell service and Wi-Fi go down more often than people expect. The radios talk to each other across the block, pick up NOAA weather alerts and AM/FM broadcasts, have a flashlight, and recharge with a hand crank if the battery is empty.
How does it ship?
Presale orders are fulfilled in order by ground carrier. The kit contains a lithium battery, so it cannot fly, which is also why we test every shipping lane before we send the first one.
